Zahir Amin specialises in GI/Abdominal imaging (including abdominal sarcomas), hepatobiliary and pancreatic imaging and interventional radiology, and is the Lead Radiologist for the Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic Unit and the Abdominal Sarcoma/GIST group at UCH. Zahir is a member of BSGAR (British Society of GI and Abdominal Radiologists).
He was trained in Radiology at UCH and completed his MD thesis on Image guided liver tumour laser ablation in 1994. From 1996-2002, he was Consultant Radiologist at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, chiefly specialising in abdominal and GI/luminal imaging, and was responsible for setting up the Endoscopic Ultrasound service. In 2002, he was appointed Consultant Radiologist at UCH and is currently Lead Radiologist for HPB and Abdominal Sarcoma Imaging.
